| FITTING INSTRUCTIONS for RP38 & RP38Si AUTOMATIC THRESHOLD SEAL.
A heavy duty automatic door threshold seal which is spring loaded to lift clear of the floor as soon as the door leaf is opened by just a few millimetres. When the door closes the pressure on the adjustable block activates the internal mechanism to push down the scissor action seal. Location: Single and double butt hinged door bottoms. Min/Max Gap: 3mm / 13mm. Standard Finish: Anodised Satin Clear (or Bronze at request). Seal Material: PVC (Grey) or Silicon. | ||||||||||||||

NOTES: REVERSING INTERNAL MECHANISM TO SUIT HAND OF DOOR: (1) Remove self tapping screw from hole1. (Fig.4.) (2) Pull on adjustment nut and slide inner assembly from housing (3) Turn inner assembly around and replace from opposite end (4) Screw new self tapping screw supplied, into hole 2. This secures the inner assembly. (Fig.4.). Re-install the self tapping screw to blank hole 1. (5) Screw adjustment nut in level with housing. (6) Operate RP38 by hand to check for correct assembly FACE MOUNT INSTALLATION: (1) Measure the distance between door stops. (Fig.1.) (2) Machine cut the RP38 less 2mm to allow clearance on latch side. Cut back latch side only. (Fig.3.). Cut gasket with a sharp knife. (Fig.2.) (3) Drill and countersink mounting holes in housing flange (4) With the door closed position the RP38 hard against side stop and level with door bottom. Adjustment nut must be on hinge side. (Fig.3.) (5) Screwfix with screws supplied (6) Fit thumb tack strike if necessary. (Fig.3.) (7) Open door and turn adjustment nut anti-clockwise two turns (8) Close door gently and observe the action of the RP38. The seal should engage the cill lightly. For adjustment turn the adjustment nut anti-clockwise half a turn at a time and repeat step 7
(1) Measure full width of the door (Fig. 1). (2) Machine cut the unit less 6mm to allow mortising of escutcheon plates. Cut back latch side only. (Fig.3.) Cut the gasket with a sharp knife. (Fig.2.) (3) Drill and countersink mounting holes in mounting flange. (Fig.2.) (4) To allow for escutcheon plates, center RP38 in door bottom with adjustment nut on hinge side. Screwfix with screws supplied. (Fig.3.) (5) Fit escutcheon plates with screws supplied. (Fig.3.) Hang door. (6) Go to steps (6), (7) and (8) for face mount installation. |
