| FITTING INSTRUCTIONS for MG39 Magnetic Seals. |
|
A refrigeration type vinyl magnetic strip in an anodised aluminium housing, which provides a very tight seal for steel clad doors and jambs. It can also be used with timber doors if a rebate
is made on the door face to accept a mild steel strip. The magnetic strip has sufficient closing strength that latches may not be required.
It can also be used in pairs on meeting stiles of timber doors. Location: Broad butt hinged doors for head, jambs or stiles. Can be used at meeting stiles for sliding doors. Min/Max Gap: 4mm to 8mm (meeting stiles). Standard Finish: Anodised Satin Clear or Bronze, PE Paint. Is a two pack polyester enamel colour match finish which is equal to or exceeds powdercoat finish. Seal Material: Flexible PVC Charcoal. Fixing Method: Zinc plated, cross recess head S.T. screws of the appropriate size are supplied. INSTALLATION: NOTES:If a face mounted seal is to be fitted on the door bottom, fit the MG39 doorseal to the door frame first. If fixing to rebated frames of single doors, a long backset door latch is recommended. Important: Magnetic seals can repel and may require reversal of end to end in one section, for both seals to attract. (meeting stile application only). (1) Machine cut MG39 to the required length. The MG39 is best mitre jointed but may be butt jointed. Neatly biff or centre punch each end of aluminium to lock in PVC preventing creep. (2) With the door closed position the seal at the head of the door first. The door should rest lightly against the MG39 gasket. Lightly screw fix in the centre of the adjusting slots. Proceed to fit the seals. (3) Shut the door and adjust the seal to ensure a consistent seal all around. A tight seal is not necessary. The door should just firmly hold this sheet of paper to ensure a perfect seal. (4) Open and shut the door to check for correct latching. Tighten all fixing screws. | |
